Review: Rock Island Armory 1911 .45ACP semiautomatic pistol I recently purchased a new Rock Island Armory G.I. .45. It is a plain Jane, Parkerized model. To save the nice grips I took them off and put a on a set of Pachmayr wrap-around rubber grips that I already had that needed a home and then after checking it over for fit and finish I took it to the range to see how it would shoot. It functioned flawlessly and when I pulled the target back from the 50 ft. mark I was amazed to see all of the shots in the 10 ring with a off hand bullseye hold (that's a six o'clock hold on the black bullseye) needless to say this one is a keeper for sure. For the money I'm sold on them and might just buy another one, different model of course. -- Dan Freeman (submitted January 17, 2009)
